Valentina y su Orquesta
Vickie “VALENTINA” Romero was born in Brooklyn New York Raised in Long
Island till the age of 11. Her parents then moved to Puerto Rico where then she
acquired and inclination towards musical instruments (Guitar and Piano). At the age
of 12 she took guitar and piano lessons. Valentina enjoyed Jazz, classical music
and Boleros and enjoyed singing songs from the popular and legendary Mexican
singer José José(Principe de la voz) her role model and inspiration.
VALENTINA started developing herself when she play the guitar in her brothers
Conjunto Victor Romero whom at the present time is the pianist and arranger of
many popular salsa Bands starting from Victor Manuel, Andy Montañez, Celia
Cruz Just to mention a few. For many years Valentina and her brother played at
private parties, Social event festivals like: “El Club la Ruleta” de Isla Verde, “Las
Vegas” “El Festival del Viejo San Juan” and “ Festival del Alcade de Dorado
After moving to Miami she was discovered by the composer and writer Richard
Carpio with whom she collaborated musically for many years cultivating the
American market and composing (cross-over) songs with lyrics in both languages.
Under the label BMC Records, Miami, she records her first L.P. titled “Pa’ Tí Ná
Ma,” in Spanish in the tropical, salsa rhythm, which was one of the themes written by
VALENTINA and Richard Carpio.

of interpretation, VALENTINA stands out as the
favorite star of all, filling her with great satisfaction
since her goal is to emulate the examples set forth by
the salsa stars, Celia Cruz, Arrabella and Gina.
